Artist's Description

This is another artwork with which my intention is to present the viewer with an escape from the ordinary. The wizard stepping through the rift in time is one of my favourite actors, Morgan Freeman. My intention was to make this painting look both very "classical" and yet other-worldly at the same time.

Michael Goguen

Michael Arthur Goguen : Canadian artist Born: July 10, 1967 I am a self-taught artist who first began drawing when I was old enough to hold a crayon. By the later school grades and into junior High School, my artwork consisted primarily of graphite pencil sketching which I very much enjoyed. However, I wished to add colour to my art as well as start using materials which I perceived, at the time, to be more permanent than pencil on paper(with my limited knowledge, at the time, about paper quality). In 1981, I was living in Aylmer, Quebec. I was not yet 14 years old when I decided to take up the paint brush and start oil painting, which I enjoyed even more than pencil sketching.
