Description
This one is essentially a piece of "fan art" based on the epic tune by the Smashing Pumpkins bearing the same title. The Smashing Pumpkins tune can be heard here; crank up the volume: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fe9dTVbAtcw. There are no reference photos for this painting. Like many of my artworks, it is completely freehand and from imagination.
The story which is conveyed through the lyrics of the song is one of hopeless love; or love which is not returned. The vast majority of people have experienced this at some point in their lives; usually during their youth. Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins writes of this emotional tragedy from a young man's perspective; having been a young man himself at the time he wrote the song.
